"It might take a year, it might take a day, but what's meant to be will always find its way"
Shemazing.ie
This was such a big highlight for me. I was so grateful to get this amazing opportunity. I was delighted to have my first blogger interview appear on one of my favourite websites, Shemazing!. It was great to be asked all different questions about my past, blogging and of course, my debs(prom) night! You can read the article here. With this interview, I also took part in a Debs Challenge, where Shemazing! set me a challenge to create a Deb's look with a budget of €100. Want to see how I got on? You can watch my video here. I would love to do more projects like this as I had so much fun and learned a lot from it too.Beatyard
This was sort of a non-blogger related highlight for me. However, Niamh and I still talk about this music festival. I was never really into house or funky music (rock music is my pride & joy). However, Niamh got me hooked onto house/soul music coming up to the event. She invited me to Beatyard and I never heard of it before but I just thought I would go to see what it was all about. I don't think we ever had so much fun, drinking cocktails under the sun at Dun Laoghaire Harbour ( Dublin, Ireland). It wasn't your typical Irish festival and I think that's what I loved about it. Everyone was so chill and there to have a good time and appreciate music. I'm definatley heading back in 2016. I love music festivals and I hope to go to more next Summer once I finish my final year in college next May.
Internship
I sometimes get emotional even thinking about how lucky I am in relation to my Internship. For those of you who followed me all this year might remember that in my third year in college I had to undertake a 6 month internship. I remember the struggle of nailing one after I finished my Christmas exams. I remember the day I got the email to say I got an internship. At the start, I was quite shy and sort of there just to be there. I did like it but I had it in my mind that I'm just here for the sake of college and that's not the mindset I should of had. Then, after a few months, I finally felt my purpose there. My creativity streak came out and I started to feel more like myself in the workplace. I will never forget the week I was leaving, I didn't want to go back to college, I loved it so much! After a month of being away, they asked me to come back and I am so happy they did. I now work there one a one day basis while I'm in college and every time I go back into the office, it feels like I'm reunited with my family. I always feel so welcome when I come in the door and I know I'm good at what I do and I do everything to the best of my capability in there. It's surreal really, I never thought I'd feel that way about a job. Now, I understand how important it is to love your job and find something you love because it makes your life easy and more enjoyable.![]() |

London Fashion Week
How could I ever, ever forget London Fashion Week. Niamh and I never imagined this would happen, especially not at 22 years of age. I will never forget the call from Frockadvisor telling us we had won the competition with Galaxy Ireland. Niamh just came out of her Thyroid surgery at the time and it was really the cherry on top of the cake for her as she had something to look forward to. We still can't thanks Frockadvisor and Galaxy enough for making our fashion dreams come true. We hope we can do it all over again.
#TopPopTropPop
This was my first time working with Frockadvisor in 2015. Niamh and I took part in #TopPopTropPop which is a set of appisodes run by Frockadvisor and Tropical Popical. All the women that participate chose a topic they wanted to discuss while being interviewed by the ever so glam Andrea Horan from Tropical Popical. Of course, my topic was Happiness (cheesy, I know) but as you know it's something I have a strong passion about. I was so happy with how my appisode came out and you can watch it hereWeb Summit
I was lucky enough to attend the last Websummit to be held in Dublin in the early days of November. I got this opportunity through college and I'm very lucky I saw that email at that exact time. I worked the first day with a start-up company and the second & third days I attended it as myself. I was amazed to meet some incredible and talented people from all over the world. I got to sit in on some fascinating talks like CEO of Tinder, Sean Rad (unfortunately, got no tips), Steve Angello( DJ/Music Producer) and Founder of Pixar, Ed Catmull. The whole event was exhausting as I had to run to different venues and stages the whole time, but I can't get over how much fun I had! I have my ticket for the Web Summit 2016 in Lisbon, so hopefully I can get any room in any hotel!
The Happiness Series
I know I've only done one post in this new series, but in 2016, there will be plenty more. My first post, which you can read here, went down really well with all my readers. As everyone knows, Happiness is a subject I have felt strong about for the past few months. The Happiness series strangely came from the Heartbreak series. I was amazed by the response of the Heartbreak Series that I wanted to create more positivity on my blog. All I want to do is spread happiness and try to inspire others to be happy ( hopefully in a non-corny way).
My next set of highlights will go live at 9pm (GMT) on Wednesday 30th!
Stay tuned for more chaos,
Jess X
