Selfie Girls Highlights of 2015- Part Two

"Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases from being shared"

Welcome to Part Two of my 2015 highlights.
Let's take another trip down memory lane..

Trend Tackler

It is still so crazy to believe that I appeared on TV3's "Xpose" this year. I will never forget getting the email from a producer and I ran around my entire apartment a million times and screamed down the phone to my mother. I didn't believe it was real for a second. I was like "have they got the right Jess?". It was such a nerve wracking but incredible moment. I had so much fun shooting three different segments for the Trend Tackler segment of the daily 6pm show. I shot three different slots and it is amazing to see me get more comfortable from the first to the third. After this, I knew I was meant to be on television. As everyone knows, I love attention and the camera (no point in hiding it) and this was just a realisation that I need to do everything in my power to make it happen again. Fingers crossed it does!

Her.ie

I was lucky enough to feature on one of Ireland's most popular fashion & entertainment website, Her.ie. I am a daily reader of the website and it's so surreal that I got to feature on it in 2015. I was asked to write a post about all my favourite products and shared some beauty secrets of mine. Although I'm not a makeup artist or fanatic, it was good to share my experience with trying out different products and finding products that suit me so I can share it to my readers. You can read the article here.

The Heartbreak Series

I know it's weird to think that the Heartbreak series was a highlight. But, to me, it really was. What started out as just a random personal post has now lead to 4 posts. It's insane! I was truly overwhelmed about the response I got from the first post. I didn't expect that much people to read or even comment about it. I didn't write it for sympathy, which I was happy I didn't get it. But, it was relatable and it helped people and that was the focus of it. When you hear the word "heartbreak" it does sound like such a sad and negative word. However, I want to show what can come out of a heartbreak and how you can turn things around. Heartbreaks are horrible, and I do show that, but I also want to create positivity and show people it's not the end, but simply a new beginning. I hope to dabble more on the Heartbreak series and try to make you laugh a bit. If you haven't read any of the Heartbreak series you can read them here.

Sisters

Niamh and I pretty much did everything together again this year. It is crazy how much our friendship has blossomed this year. I could nearly call her a sister. In the running up to the new release of Universal Pictures movie, Sisters, we were asked by Frockadvisor to take part in a video discussing our relationship. You can watch what I said about Niamh here and watch what she said about me here.

Blog Awards 2015

I think I went on about the Blog Awards for over 4 or 5 months. It started during the summer when I entered Chaos wearing Lipgloss in several categories, to getting on the long and short lists and then being announced as a finalist in the Lifestyle Category. I was truly overwhelmed by the incredible support I received over the few months coming up to the Blog Awards ceremony. Although I didn't win, I didn't need an award to prove to myself that I'm a great blogger. I wrote all about my process of getting ready and the whole experience here. I wouldn't of got the outstanding support if I wasn't good at this, but somehow I am! If you were a part of the voting process, thank you kindly for getting me as far as I did. You never know what could happen in 2016!

Galway Fashion Trail

I was lucky enough to be invited to Galway as a VIP blogger for the first annual Galway Fashion Trail. I got this incredible experience through ITWBN, Galway Now magazine and Catwalk Modelling Agency. It was a day full of blogger chats, food and fashion. What more could a girl ask for? There is another trail being planned for 2016 and I'm already so excited. You can read all about it here

Oh wow, I never realised I had so many great things happen this year. Obviously, there is plenty more but these were experience that I shared with all of you and it is so great to realise what I've accomplished this year. It's a true sign that the world is your oyster if you want it to be.

Stay tuned for more chaos,

 Jess X
