"If you're not obsessed with your life, change it"
Welcome back to Part Two in getting your Happiness back after the Christmas period. As this is a continued post, you can read Part One here.
5. People Cleanse
Now, I don't mean wash people with soap and water, if you think I've gone crazy. We tend to make a lot of friendships and as we get older we can have too many. I think it's important to invest your time into people who make you feel happy, accept you for who you are and vice versa. There is no point in having people in your life who make you feel sad, hurt or alone. Life is too short to be miserable, so why should you be? I know it's hard to do this, I'm not saying to completely cut them out of your life or delete them off Facebook, but think about each relationship you have with people and how much time you spend with them all. It's important, that as we grow you make room for new friends and people in your life. I think naturally some of us are born "people pleasers" and want to be friends with everyone, but that is slightly impossible. Cherish the friendships and people you have at the moment and be around the people you want to be around.
6. Empty Mental Pockets
It is so important to make room for "me time" in your life. Like everyone, we all have our own commitments and duties in life. But, each day you should invest some time into spending time by yourself. This could be exercise, a bath or watching your favourite TV show. Now they're just suggestions everyone is different. Find one thing that makes you happy and relaxed and try to do it every day or every second day. There is no point in doing it once a week as it's not enough time to take in things that are going on around you. Reflection time is important.
7. Reflame the love for yourself
Who loves you? You do! If you're single, like me, remember that you'll always have a strong relationship with yourself. It's important to always practice self-love. If you don't love yourself, why should you expect someone else to? If you don't like something about yourself whether it be your weight, the way you dress or your hair colour, change it! You can change any part of you and I mean any part! You should look at yourself in the mirror every morning and think and feel utterly fabulous, even when you had last night's dry drool on your face. Work on your relationship with yourself, it a hard working one, so it's important to do everything to make it work.
8. Learn something new
They say that we learn something new everyday. Is there anything that you've always wanted to do or learn? Nothing beats that utter excitement of finding out new things in your life. Regardless of how silly it might sound to you, be brave and do something that you've always wanted to do. Whether it be learning a new recipe, learning to knit or even telling someone you fancy them (hint hint my secret admirer). Life is about taking risks and learning, so make short or long term things you want to learn this year.
Until next time,
Stay tuned for more chaos,
Jess X
