The Happiness Series: 5 things to do when you're in a bad mood






 "Chin up, beautiful. Don't let it get to you"

I woke up today for the first time in a while in a foul mood. Not a bad mood, but a foul mood. It's honestly rare that I'm in a bad mood as my life is going well right now. But of course, like everyone, bad spells can come upon us. I got up and went about my normal day but didn't feel better until I wanted to do a few things to cheer myself up. So, I've created a list of 5 such simple & random things that you could possibly do the next time you're not feeling the best.

1. Write down the problem

When I came home from work, I got a pen and paper and wrote down what I thought I was wrong and how exactly I was feeling. It wasn't even sentences but it was just random words. But, it meant putting all my feelings down on paper and putting what I felt right in front of me. Then after, I just put it away but it felt good to get things off my chest.


2. Ironing

I'm no domestic goddess or anything so it's rare you can find Selfie Girl doing household chores. But, I decided to do something I rarely do which is iron. I grabbed lots of shirts (which I love to wear but never iron) and ironed them all. I had the tv on in the background and it was nice to just focus on doing one thing at a time & take my time doing it. I'm amazed at the peace it gave me.

3. Treat yourself

Deciding what to eat when you're tired after work is a always a hard decision. So, I gave myself a Tuesday Treat and ordered a takeaway for Just Eat. With over, 1900 restaurant partners, there's such a variety of flavours in different types of cuisines- always spoilt for choice!



4. Pamper time

Nothing beats a nice hot shower or bath when you're in a bad mood. When you're in a bath or shower, it's just that one time you're on your own, well, you can choose not to be 😉 .Then afterwards, you can use a face mask or exfoliate your skin. As I said, so simple but you can feel so good after.

5. Tune out
Music is that friend that will always be there. When it got dark, I turned off the lights in my bedroom, lit some candles and played some music. No particular type, but just some of my favourite songs at the moment. 

I hope this helps you in some way but these were things I did this evening that helps to put me in a better mood before going to bed tonight.
