As some of you may or may not know, it
was my birthday on the 16th March. This year, I turned the
big 2-1! And no, I don’t feel any older. I still feel as young and
tired as I always do. This year, I celebrated my birthday with my
family away. It was small, yet special but I really enjoyed it.
I arrived home from Dublin on Saturday
15th. My mother had pink balloons on the gates and on all
the lamps outside. What a way to arrive home! When I stepped into the
hall, there was more balloons and banners everywhere. I hadn’t seen
my family in over a month so they were more full of hugs and kisses
than ever. I walked into my kitchen and saw my to-die-for cake. A MAC
make up inspired cake with a pink shoe on top. It was so amazing to
look at, I didn’t want to cut it. Later on that evening, a few
family and friends arrived to see me and shower me with gifts.
Sunday morning, I woke up in my Finding
Nemo onesie to amazing gifts from my parents and sister. After
breakfast, we then set off for our journey to the Malton Hotel,
Killarney, Co. Kerry. My sister and I were treated to a junior
superior suite as it was a special occasion. I was gob-smacked to
stay in such a beautiful and large suite. On the coffee table, there
was a card beside a box of Butlers chocolates. The card read “Happy
21st Birthday from the Malton Hotel staff”. It was such
a nice touch. For the time that I was born (3.25pm) , the plan was to
go to the local tea-rooms because I am a tea lover. But,
unfortunately, they were on a winter break (although it is now
spring). So the family and I decided to go to a local restaurant.
After a lovely meal, vouchers were well spent in Penny's! We then all
went back to our rooms to get all dolled up for a fancy birthday
meal. Throughout the whole day, my family surprised me with so many
gifts. I felt very lucky to be treated so well. The night was ended
with several Mojito Cocktails. What better way to end it!
I want to thank everyone who wished me
a happy birthday. All wishes were much appreciated. Its crazy to
think that I am 21 years old. I hope that more amazing friendships
and opportunities will come my way as they did so far. I am truly
blessed to have the amazing family and friends that I have now. I
thank them for sticking with me and well, putting up with my
craziness!
Thank you,
JB
