I have been a huge fan of Jason Derulo since is very first single "Whatcha Say". Every song and album he released, I fell in love with it. One aspect that I suppose drew me to him, was his passion for dancing as he is amazing talent. I purchased these tickets last October for myself and Lisa( best friend). But unfortunately, he didn't please me.
When we arrived, young girls were dressed inappropriately, I have never seen anything like it. Young girls falling around drunk and security not even caring! They might think it's the usual thing, but this shouldn't be even so "usual". Something has to be done because even at their age, i haven't seen anything like what I saw that night. So initially, this was my first disappointment.
When the music started, I just put all my troubles away and waited until Derulo graced the O2 with his presence. Jason did not sing live for the whole performance. I was expecting a "show" but it was very disappointing. The speakers were so loud that you couldn't even hear the music,you could just feel and hear the vibration. Some young fans seemed to be enjoying it, as Jason danced his way around the stage with his dancers. But I have never seen such a disappointing show. He did engage with the crowd a lot which I didn't expect. But there as one aspect that made me want to leave. Derulo knows he is amazing and looks well, so in the middle of the concert, himself and his back up dancers do a work out session. Girls went wild wanting to join him and touch his abs. But he is on stage to perform and show off his talent, not try and do sit ups and work on his figure. It just didn't make any sense. The songs he did "perform" I love, but it just didn't sound right. He should of sang more and tried not to do so much dancing to focus on his singing.
I still like him as an artist, so please don't slate. This is my own view of the concert. My friends also attended and thought it was amazing, but did see the flaws I saw too. Maybe next time he comes he'll wow me ?!
