Where: For those of you who may know not, Lusty Beg is an island set in the lakelands of Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. It is roughly a 3 hour journey from Dublin to the Island itself. Is it worth it? Yes! (read on and see why)

What: On the island, there are several Self catering cottages, Lakeside cabins & courtyard rooms to suit any families or couples. You can view the accommodation choices here. Also on the island there is a spa with incredible treatments on offer to ! There is an restaurant and bar onsite, offering a variety of tasty and sumptuous dishes for all- also let me mention, they have delicious cocktails too! Feeling adventurous and want to do something different? Lusty Beg offer a range of activities such as Clay Pigeon Shooting, Archery and Off-Road driving.

Who: A few weeks ago, I went with several bloggers and there was approx 15 of us. It was nice to have a small group as we all follow each other online and it was good to spend time with them. I knew most of them from online and some of them are my friends to, so it was nice to escape the busy city life and head to Lusty Beg for a little 2 day detox. When we were there, there was a wedding by the pier- very romantic! So, they cater for everyone, whether it be a couple, wedding or families! There is something there for everyone whether you are looking for a relaxing getaway or an adventure.
Why: As mentioned, I was invited along with several other bloggers as a part of an "Instameet" event hosted by Lusty Beg. I was delighted to be considered one of Ireland Top Instagrammers and to join other Instagrammers in areas of food, travel and lifestyle. I've never been invited to something like it before, but, I'm very lucky to have attended.
We set off on an early Thursday morning up to Lusty Beg. It was a long journey, so I did manage to sneak in a little nap (thankfully James Butler or James Kavanagh didn't take a sneaky snapchat!). We arrived at approx 11am, which was great as we had a full day to experience the Island. I followed Lusty Beg on Instagram and I knew I was in for a treat- it was an Instagramers heaven! I was completely blown away by the impeccable ground and spectacular view from the pier. After getting a few photos ( still more to come on my own Instagram), we then checked into our rooms. I invited my dear friend Niamh from LoveLife to join me for this amazing trip. We were amazed at our incredible room including two large double beds, TV and an en suite. It was perfect for the two of us, considering we took up the entire room with clothes and makeup!
That afternoon, we got into different groups to try out all the activities. I have never experienced any of the activities, but they were all so much fun! We took part in Clay Pigeon Shooting, Off- Road Driving and a boat trip.

After our afternoon of activities, we got refreshed and revamped for dinner. We started our evening with a few Strawberry Daiquiri cocktails while sitting outside beside the pier. I distinctly remember all the group sitting around the table and thinking to myself, "wow, is this real?". I never felt so relaxed to be around great company and taking in this experience. For dinner, there was an incredible choice and I decided to go for an Indian curry, which was probably the tastiest curry I ever had. Of course, for dessert, I indulged into a Chocolate Brownie- yum! The bloggers and I then spent the night watching the sunset and drinking cocktails until it was dark. We were very lucky to have dry weather to be able to get the full experience of Lusty Beg at night too!

The next morning, a delicious buffet was served in the restaurant and I pretty much ate everything! After breakfast, we decided to play some archery! I then realised, I have no aiming skills, at all! A trip to Lusty Beg wouldn't have been completed without a trip by the luxurious spa. I treated myself to a back massage- which was well needed! I then popped into the Jacuzzi and Pool afterwards to try and make the most of the spa experience. I just did not want to leave!
We set off for Dublin that afternoon after tucking into a light lunch in the bar. It was safe to say, there were a lot of sad faces going back to Dublin, back to reality. I would like to thank Lusty Beg for having me for the incredible trip. It was so well needed to escape after completing college in May. I would happily go back before the summer is out. It was a really enjoyable experience that I wish could of lasted longer. Also, I should mention, there is only wifi available in the restaurant. So, whenever we were around the restaurant, it was a time when everyone was uploading to their social platforms. To be honest, I liked this because it meant I was able to really take it all in, instead of being glued to my phone.

If you have any other queries about the venue, do tweet me or message me on Instagram or Facebook. Alternatively, you can see Lusty Beg's website.
Until the next adventure,
Stay tuned for more chaos,
JB X
