How to.... Get up early

Not a morning person...

Like many of you out there, I struggle to get out of bed every morning. It is very rare that I wake up feeling fresh and feeling like I got a good and well rested sleep. For much young people, we like to stay in bed until the afternoon, but then when we get up, the whole day is gone. Do you want to some tips on how to wake up early and make the most out of your day? Well lets go!

Plan an exciting breakfast

I am not really a breakfast person but this summer I am determined to improve my habits and eat more healthier. If you plan an exciting breakfast for the next morning, you will be more likely to get out of bed to fill your mouth with your chosen delicious treats. Whether its pancakes, or a bacon sandwich or even for the Irish people, a jumbo breakfast roll, its important to eat breakfast as it is considered the most important meal of the day.

Sleep in darkness

I know there is many people out there that might be afraid or the dark or might sleep with the TV, but it is ideal to sleep in complete darkness. Melatonin, which is a sleep hormone, is produced in the dark. It is naturally produced by the brain and it tells your body when it needs to sleep. So next time you turn on a TV or a light before you sleep, just think, will I get a good nights sleep?

Drink water before going to bed

Obviously, it is the ideal situation to drink water at every point of the day, but it is great to have some before going to sleep. It has been a habit of mine to always try it before going to bed and waking up first thing in the morning. Having a glass of water before you go to bed helps your body replenish the fluids it loses throughout the day from normal activity. As you may now, water is a natural calorie-burner. If you drink water before you go to bed, your body will begin to work extra hard to warm up, increasing your metabolism.

Scheduling your plans

If you can, try to schedule your most important plans for the morning. This will help motivate you to get up and get excited about all the tasks you have to do. Try and stay optimistic about what plans you have. Regardless of what is it, thank God or whoever is up there, that you have another day in this beautiful world and that you are wanted and loved. Stay happy by letting this motivate you.

Turn your phone away

I can't even do this during the day never-mind going to bed. My friends actually take the phone off me to encourage me to be more social-able and to create more eye contact. And they are right. When going to bed, before you turn off the light, just put your phone at the other side of the room or on your dresser and face it down so it is not distracting you. Your eyes might be tired and strained looking at the phone screen all day, so give your eyes a break. Why not read a book or magazine instead? Yes these are still being published!

Put the alarm far away.

Whether your alarm is on your phone or you have an actual alarm clock, place it across the room. Yes,this seems crazy, but trust me you won't regret it! This will help to get you of the bed and turn off the annoying alarm tone, so you won't have the urge to hit the snooze button. Also another tip, if you use your phone as your alarm, why not put on a song you hate as your tone. Because trust me, you will wake up and move quicker!

Stay Tuned for more Chaos,

JB
