Its Cocktail and Mocktail time!

As previously mentioned this week, I promised you all a blog post on cocktails and mock-tails. I am a huge fan of cocktails and I wanted to do research and experiment with new recipes! Cocktails are a must this summer, so why not create one of these bad boys! Here are my top 10 Cocktails and Mock-tails that you have to try

                                

Cheerful Cherry Mock-tail


What you'll need:

1 cup cherry juice
¾ cup orange juice
¼ cup cold water
Orange slices

How to create: 

Combine cherry juice, orange juice, and cold water. Pour over ice and garnish each glass with an orange slice. Tip: Try freezing small pieces of lemon, orange, or lime peel in your ice cubes for a stylish, tasty zest to add to your mock-tail. Serves 2 .





                                   

Blueberry- Pomegranate smoothie Mocktail

What you'll need:

2/3 c frozen blueberries
1/2 c low-fat French vanilla yogurt
1/3 c vanilla soy milk
1/4 c pomegranate juice

How to create: 

combine all ingredients in blender. Puree until smooth. Serves 1.



                                              

Watermelon Margarita Cocktail

What you'll need:

1 ½ ounce(s)Don Julio Blanco Tequila
½ ounce(s) lime juice
¼ ounce(s) agave syrup
1 slice(s) watermelon

How to create:

 Muddle watermelon and agave syrup, add rest of ingredients, and shake well. Double strain into a frozen Martini glass. Garnish with a watermelon slice. Serves 1.




                                   

Ciroc Chic (ideal for a girly night)

What you'll need:

1 ½ ounce(s)Cîroc Vodka (or any vodka)
1 ½ ounce(s) pomegranate juice
1 ounce(s) pineapple juice
1 slice(s) pineapple, or edible flowers

How to create: 


Add Cîroc Vodka, pomegranate juice, and pineapple juice. Shake with ice and strain into a pre-chilled Martini glass. Garnish with a pineapple slice or edible flowers. Serves 1.




                                  

Nojito Mock-tail( a Mojito with no alcohol)

What you'll need:


Crushed ice
8 mint leaves
3 ounces lime juice
1-1/2 ounce sugar syrup
2 ounces club soda

How to create: 


Fill a pint glass 1/3 full with ice, then add mint leaves.
Lightly mash the leaves together with the liquid using a muddle stick or wooden pestle, being careful not to tear the leaves. Fill the glass with more ice, then add club soda. Garnish with mint or lime, and savour! Serves 1.




                                                   

Strawberry Mojito Cocktail( My new obsession)



What you'll need:


1 1/2 tablespoons mint-infused simple syrup
3 large strawberries, hulled and thinly sliced
5 fresh mint leaves, more for garnish
1.5 ounces (3 tablespoons) white rum
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1/4 cup club soda
Mint-infused simple syrup:
1 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup tightly packed fresh mint leaves


How to create:


 In a small bowl or glass, muddle the simple syrup, strawberries, and fresh mint leaves until just fragrant. Add a handful of ice to an old-fashioned glass. Pour the strawberry mixture over the ice. Pour in the white rum and lime juice. Add the club soda. Gently stir the drink. Garnish with a sprig of mint and serve immediately.
Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine water and sugar and bring to the boil. Stir constantly until sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and pour syrup over mint leaves. Infuse for 20 minutes. Strain and discard mint and store syrup in the refrigerator.




                                                  

Afterglow mocktail


What you'll need:


4 parts Orange juice
4 parts Pineapple juice
1 part Grenadine

How to create: 

Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker / stirrer and pour into an unusually shaped glass. Add Crushed Ice and decorations to create a great speciality drink from an easy to make recipe!



Woo Woo Cocktail


What you'll need:

1 1/2 oz peach schnapps
1 1/2 oz vodka
3 1/2 oz cranberry juice

How to create: 


Pour all ingredients into a high-ball glass over ice cubes, stir, and serve. Serves 1.



                                 

Fat Frog Cocktail


What you'll need: 

1 bottle Smirnoff Ice
1 bottle Barcardi Breezer Orange

1 bottle WKD Origional Blue

How to create: 


Get 2 pint glasses, pour one half of Smirnoff Ice into one pint glass and the rest in the other glass, then do the same with the orange breezer, then followed by the Blue WKD. Mix, and the drink should turn green. Add ice as desired, and serve. 



                                         

Fizzy Lizzy Cocktail( if you have a big budget!)


What you'll need:


premium tequila
orange cognac
black raspberry liqueur
fresh lime juice
simple syrup, optional
raspberry sugar
raspberries, garnish
champagne

How to create: 

The "margarita’s mix" consists of two parts premium tequila, 1 1/2 ounces orange cognac, 1/2 ounce raspberry liqueur and a splash of fresh lime juice. Add simple syrup, if desired. Mix all of the "margarita’s mix" ingredients in a thin shaker with ice, a little diluted. Get a good shake to get a good fizz. One-third of the glass is the "margarita mix" and the rest of the drink is champagne. A wineglass should be chilled before you pour the drink. Cover the rim with raspberry sugar, but don't get any in the drink. To add fizz, drop a few raspberries in the drink.



                                       

Watermelon and Grape Mint Cup Mock-tail

What you'll need:

1/2 cup melon balls
1/2 cup seedless grapes
1 tsp orange squash 
1 tsp chopped mint leaves
 
½ mint
 sprig or decoration


How to create:


 Mix the orange squash and 2 teaspoons of water. Put the melon balls and grapes in the glass and then add the orange squash and the mint leaves. Chill. Just before serving, decorate with a sprig of mint. Serves 1.
