August Goals

So the end of July is upon us this week. Its crazy to think Summer is nearly over. I made a commitment to myself that I would make this Summer the best yet, but unfortunately that hasn't gone so well. With some endings and beginnings in different aspects in my life, I am now determined to make August full of joy and memories, surrounding myself with positive and loving people. I hope my August Goals inspire you to grab a pen and paper and create your own. September is time to get back to school and college, so we need to make the most of it. So let's do this!

Read more. So as a blogger, I have a shocking confession. I have only completed one book. Like ever. This book was called “Kissed by an angel” by Elizabeth Chandler. I read it back in 2010 I think. But from a very young age, reading books was never interesting. But since I started my blog, I am reading more blogs weekly which has created an enthusiasm for me to start reading. I love the thought of buying a book and reading it instead of looking at my laptop screen. I enjoy reading magazines and newspapers now and again. So, I am determined to buy a book to start reading and hopefully my grammar and speech will improve. Have you an recommendations?

Visit more places. When it comes to restaurants and cafés, I usually just stick to the one place and I never like to venture and try other places. Yes, I am a bore! So since visiting Póg Fro-Yo over a month ago, since then I really want to try new restaurants and cafés in Ireland. I have visited Póg since, and they were over the moon with the review I wrote and I hoped it helped them. Although I am not a huge well-known blogger, I seem to have a strong Irish following so I hope you do try places I have visited. If you know a new/upcoming restaurant or café that is worth it,please feel free to contact me.

Make new friends. When it comes to my friends and I, I rarely venture and put myself out there to make friends. I guess I feel scared because no one would like me. This has been a huge doubt I have lived with. Over my years, I have lost a lot of people because of this flaw because I never dared myself to go out their and be out-going. But now, I had a reality check. I would love my phone to be hopping everyday with messages from male and female friends and feel loved. So I am determined to make friends. If you see me on the street, come up and say hi! It would make my day.

Blog more. With a roller-coaster of a summer so far, I haven’t committed to Chaos wearing Lipgloss as much as I hoped too. I promised myself when my exams finished, that I would research more and blog about new and different things. But, seeing as I have one more month to keep up that promise to myself, I will dedicate a certain day to blogging or a few hours a day. This blog means a lot to me and I want readers to keep up with my weekly thoughts and find out more about me.

Family and Friends are my world. When life gets crap, they are there for us to turn to. We have all been in dark places in our lives, and we feel lost and alone. But no matter what time of the day, they are there. I am going to really cherish them. Sometimes I take them for granted and feel like they are always going to be there. But I/you have to pull your own weight. Happiness is something you have control of, you need to make yourself happy and surround yourself with those positive people. Its the little things that will make their day, like a text or a giving them a chocolate bar. Do something to show you care about them. And in return, you'll receive their gratitude and love. They are the best feelings that money cant buy.

Start saving. I have never been a saver of money. Once I get paid I start spending straight away. I am useless for saving. But I really need to start, even if its just five Euro a week to put away, just starting off. Every little bit matters. Next year, I am going on a 6 month placement as part of my college course. I don't know where, but I am hoping out of the country. So I want to put away a bit every week so I feel independent where ever I end up going, that I am spending money that I have earned and worked for instead of taking money from my dad's pocket. I need to learn what its like to save, because soon I will be saving for a new home or a holiday. And it can be something I can teach my kids too. Want to do the same?

So these are six things, along with many more that I will figure out during August, that are my goals. I hope they might help you in creating your own list. Life is short and you need to make the most of it.

Stay tuned for more chaos,

JB
