So you have probably seen my raving about this years Irish Beauty Blog Awards. And I am feeling positive and staying optimistic about being nominated. So in this post I will give just a brief introduction about the event and then further on I will talk about why I feel I should be nominated.
So a fellow blogger told me about the Irish Beauty Blog awards and thought I should nominate myself. I immediately said no as I feel like I wouldn't stand a chance. There is a HUGE range of beauty blogs here in Ireland that I consider far better than little old me! However, once I read the categories, I began to rethink it. The whole point of this awards is to celebrate blogging and vlogging here in Ireland. There are so many of us, but then I thought, what have I to lose?
I will definatley be attending the event as I am very supportive of other bloggers here and Ireland. Some negativity can go on, but I am very lucky to call some bloggers my close friends. And if they are nominated, I will be supporting them!
Now, so why nominate me? I feel I listen to any of my readers wishes. I take into consideration whatever interests my readers and to adjust my posts to suit them. I know I claim I am a fashion blogger and I know I've been lacking the fashion element lately. But, don't worry they will be on the way soon. If you have suggestions or request, feel free to email me or contact me on Twitter or Instagram.
I love blogging! Since I started over a year and a half ago, I never thought I would be here today. Still a small blog, I love every second of it and being able to express my thoughts, opinions and tips freely. I am always one for trying to stay positive and I want people to free that this blog is a negative free zone where they can rest up with a cup of Tea and scroll through my posts every week.
So there is eight categories and although I would love to be able to fit them all, I feel I best suit 3 categories. These are:
- Best Newcomer
- Best Social Media
- Best Content
Why Best Newcomer?
I'm not exactly a newcomer in relation to blogging as I have been blogging since August 2013. However I feel my work is being noticed more week by week. I am networking and making connections within this industry and I am learning more about blogging everyday. I am a newcomer in the sense that I am being noticed more and I have really only gave blogging my all last Summer.
You can easily see, I am a social media ADDICT. I am never off my phone and this can be good and bad. However, when I am in company I try to keep off it. I put a lot of thought and effort into everything I put onto my social media as thats how people find out about Chaos wearing Lipgloss. Facebook has been a disaster when it comes to my posts reaching people so I try to make my all my posts interactive. I love when readers take time to talk to me or add a comment. I also appreciate any like, share, retweet, follow or whatever it may be!
I may not be the best journalist out there with the best communication skills, however I am learning everyday. I feel my content is improving more every time I write. When I started blogging I wasn't giving my blog the 100% effort. But now, I am constantly re-reading my posts and even adding in bits if they are already live. I feel that every post I make is my product and I want it to be unique from the last post. Four keys to good content are: clarity, scanability, accuracy and inventiveness- which are things my blog posts fall under. No matter what my post is about, I will try to use these keys so you can understand what I am trying to say and that I can say it was a well-written piece- no point in being a blogger if you can't pull a sentence together!
And there you have it! I hope I have convinced you in some shape of form! If any bloggers are reading, I wish you the best of luck in the world with your nominations!
